Friendship and Fun
21st February 2019
At Newton Community Centre we are keen to help people get out of the house and meet up with friends old and new. Feeling isolated can often lead to health problems but popping in for a cuppa and chat could be just the ticket!
We run many informal and friendly groups to give people the opportunity to get together in a relaxed environment – sometimes to learn a new skill or brush up on an old skill OR simply to come for a drink and a chat….
Our Lottery-funded Befriending projects reaches out in the community to those feeling the most isolated – we offer friendship calls and home visits on a weekly basis which leads to people attending the Centre for other events and makes them feel part of the wider Community.
