After what has felt like an eternity, our bacon butties are making their glorious return this Thursday at Newton Community Centre.
10.00am - 11.30am Just £2.50 We're pleased to report that Rob is absolutely thrilled about this development. In fact, we're not sure who's more excited, Rob or the bacon. 🥓😂 Come along for a freshly made bacon butty, a hot brew, and a good catch-up with friendly faces. Life can be busy, noisy and overwhelming at times, so we're creating a series of relaxed evening events designed to help people slow down, connect and take a little time for themselves.
😴 Our next event is Rest & Restore 😴 This will be a gentle and beginner-friendly workshop with the wonderful Catherine from Balanced Bodies , exploring simple techniques to help you unwind, reduce tension and improve your sleep naturally. It's more than just a yoga class... It's an opportunity to learn practical skills that you can use at home, ask questions and discover ways to support your wellbeing as part of your evening routine. During the session you'll be introduced to gentle stretches, relaxation techniques and simple practices designed to calm the nervous system and prepare the body for more restful sleep. Thursday 27th August 7.30pm - 8.30pm Newton Community Centre £5 per person No previous yoga experience is needed and all movements can be adapted to suit different abilities. Please feel free to bring along a blanket and a pillow for the meditation at the end! Whether you're struggling to switch off, looking to improve your sleep, or simply wanting an hour of calm in your week, this relaxed workshop offers a welcoming space to pause, breathe and restore. |

👋 We're back open! 👋
Our Children's Summer Playscheme has now come to an end, and we are excited to welcome everyone back to the Community Centre as normal. From enjoying a drink in our community café, exploring the garden, finding your next great read, or joining one of our many groups and activities, there's plenty happening here for the whole community. Everyone is welcome. Come and see what's on and reconnect with your community. You can find our full What's On programme here or you can pop in for a copy too - we love visitors! It's the last day of our Children's Summer Playscheme 2026! Some say its gone quick, others say otherwise! 😅 either we have had an absolute ball getting to know and look after all of your amazing children. 🤔 What could £1 a month actually do? 🤔
Not much on its own but together, it helps keep Newton Community Centre here for everyone! If 500 people gave just £1 a month, it would help us cover essential running costs, keep activities going, support community projects, and provide a welcoming space for local people. We're asking our community to support our "£1 to keep us around" campaign. Every pound really does make a difference. 📅 We normally encourage donations on the 1st of each month, but as the Centre will be closed to the public until next week, don't worry if your donation comes a little later – every contribution still counts and is greatly appreciated. Donate in our collection boxes at the Centre when we are open 📱 Or via GoFundMe (minimum £5 donation applies online) |

We have a weekend course in November which we are now opening up for booking! But PLEASE book quickly! Please remember than you can email to pencil in a reservation but until payment is made then your place is not certain. |

The Community Lottery scheme we often share about is working! Thanks to people in our Community buying their lottery tickets through it, it's raised £50.00 for our lovely Community Centre... we will be using those funds for our Children's Summer Playscheme! For those who don't know what it's about, it's basically a little version of the lottery we've all heard about, but this one helps charities like us! 😄 The tickets cost £1.00 per week and you can actually win up to £25,000! For every ticket you play 78.2% goes to places like our lovely centre! More info and to buy your tickets can be found here |

Mind Body & Soul GOLD✨ is a gentle, holistic fitness class designed to build strength, improve balance, and restore calm — all at a comfortable, supported pace.
Exercises can be performed seated, standing, or using a chair for support, making it accessible for a range of abilities. Move safely. Feel stronger. Leave lighter. 😎 We wouldn’t have run an annual summer Playscheme for 32 years which has seen over 20,480 children attend! ☕️ We wouldn’t have a wonderful Community Café which welcomes over 16,000 visitors a year! 🎄We wouldn’t have been able to host a Christmas Community Breakfast for the past seven years which has seen over 600 enjoy a festive breakfast ☀️🎅🏻 We wouldn’t be able to raise funds through our Summer and Christmas Fairs welcoming over 2000 of our community ⭐️ We wouldn’t have a board of Trustees who guide us through good times and difficult ones too. |
