It's Day 4 of TrusteesWeek2025, and today we are shining a spotlight on our Trustee Dan Cunliffe ✨
Here is what Dan says about his role as Trustee here at Newton Community Centre 💜 volunteering..."I knew the Centre existed but had not visitied since attending playscheme as a child! After volunteering for a number of years became a Trustee as it gives the opportunity to witness first hand the remarkable dedication and effort that the volunteers and team at the Centre invest in their work.
You can see how the Centre actively gives back to our local community and truly embodies its role as an integral part of that community. It is inspiring to meet individuals whose lives have been positively impacted by the Centre and observe the meaningful progress it continues to build." |
|
On Day 3 of #TrusteesWeek2025, our next 'Spotlight On' is on our Trustee, Richard Cunningham
Here are some lovely words from Richard about his role as Trustee here at Newton Community Centre ✨💜 " I have known about the Centre since I moved here 20 years ago. Newton is my adopted hometown since relocating from Glasgow and I’ve always wanted to give something back to the Community that I belong to. I am also a father to two young daughters and it is important to me that they see the value of giving something back into the community in which they belong.
The current trustees, the trustees before me and all the staff at the Centre have built a fantastic community hub and now I get to do my little bit to contribute." |
|
On day 2 of #TrusteesWeek2025, we are shining a spotlight on our trustee, Alison Robinson ✨
Here is what Alison says about her role as trustee here at Newton Community Centre! 💜 "l am a regular attendee at the Centre when the staff suggested | look at being a Trustee. After meeting with an active Trustee to see what it was all about I was happy to go through the application process.
The Centre is a wonderful resource within our community, an oasis of warmth and friendliness, in what for some, can be a very dark lonely place. The wonderful thing about being a Trustee is being part of a fantastic team who do amazing work to improve lives and make a difference in our lovely community. I want to give back in any way possible. Volunteering creates a ripple effect and hopefully will have a far reaching effect of the Community." |
💜 This week we celebrate the work of Trustees! 💜
Newton Community Centre has a team of dedicated Trustees to steer the work of our Centre supported by its staff team and many amazing volunteers. As a small self-funded Charity it is essential that we have a diverse range of skills within our Trustees and over the next week we will introduce you to our Trustees.
If you would like more information about being a Trustee (at NCC or any other Charity) a great place to start is here.
If you would like more information about being a Trustee at NCC please email Lisa.

We can't tell you how grateful we are to those who are able to donate to us. The most common question we get asked when people want to donate is...
💬 'What would you like?' or
💬 'what do you need'?
We are so humbled by these questions and want to make it as easy as possible and so we thought an Amazon Wish List would be the way to go.
Well... We all have a 'dream' shopping list don't we? 📝😍
Ours contains items we would LOVE for our children's groups (and adults groups!) to enjoy... big colourful, comfy bean bags, sports equipment, items for the Community Garden paint pens, gardening tools and so much more! As a self funded charity the list goes on as we are sure you can imagine.

🌟 Just £1 Can Make a Big Difference! 🌟
We’re launching a simple but powerful campaign: “Please give £1 to keep us around.” On the 1st of each month, we’re asking our amazing community to donate just £1. Why? Because if 500 people chip in, that’s £500 a month — enough to keep the lights on, run activities, and support those who need us most 💛 Whether it’s popping a pound in the collection box at the centre or donating online via our GoFundMe (QR code on the poster but please note donating this way there is a minimum donation of £5 due to their terms!), every single £1 helps us stay open, active, and accessible. |
A HUGE thank you to the team from Certas Energy My Home who volunteered their time to help make our Community Garden even lovelier. We are very grateful for their time and hard work!
If any other businesses would like to help out anytime please call us on 01925 224731 and ask for Lisa! 😀
