Mondays - Wednesdays 9am - 5pm
Thursdays 9am - 3.30pm

Emails have now been sent to all families who have been allocated a place for their child/children.

If you haven’t received an email, this means that due to high demand and limited capacity your child has not been offered a place this time.

We were absolutely overwhelmed to receive over 140 applications! 💛 While this is amazing to see, our self-funded community centre can only safely accommodate a limited number of children.

Thank you so much for your understanding and continued support of Newton Community Centre. 🙏

🌟 A huge thank you to everyone who supports us with donations — we’re always blown away by your kindness and generosity. 💜

Please note there are certain things we can't take donations of at the mo!

To help us manage the space we have at the Centre and make sure your donations go where they’re needed most, we’ve put together a little guide of what we can accept at the moment, and what we unfortunately can’t take right now because we already have plenty!

Your support truly makes a difference, and being able to focus on the items we currently need helps us keep everything running smoothly and ensures nothing goes to waste.

If you’re unsure about an item, feel free to give us a call on 01925 224731— we’re always happy to help.

Thank you so much for understanding and for continuing to support our community. 💛

We want to show you all something...

The Community Lottery scheme we often share about is working! Thanks to people in our Community buying their lottery tickets through it, it's raised £50.00 for our lovely Community Centre... we will be using those funds for our Children's Summer Playscheme!

For those who don't know what it's about, it's basically a little version of the lottery we've all heard about, but this one helps charities like us! 😄

The tickets cost £1.00 per week
and you can actually win up to £25,000!
For every ticket you play 78.2% goes to places like our lovely centre!

More info and to buy your tickets can be found here

 350 films… or 700 hours of volunteering?
As #VolunteersWeek2026 comes to an end, we’re celebrating an incredible milestone for another one of our volunteers....
Last week, Gareth signed off his time-sheet and reached over 700 hours volunteering at Newton Community Centre!
That’s the same as watching around 350 films back-to-back... and for those who know Gareth, a big film fan, that feels especially fitting 🎥

Gareth has been giving his time to our community and running the Community Café every Thursday and supporting events throughout the year.
How amazing is that?
We’re so grateful for your time Gareth and we love having you as part of the team. thank you 👏💛

☕ Sometimes it’s just about having a brew and a good chat with someone who knows where to begin.

James has been volunteering here for the last 4 years, but he’s actually been connected to the Centre for much longer because his grandad was one of the founders!
James volunteers for us on Monday mornings and helps people with their family history, sharing what he knows and helping people get started if they’re not sure where to begin!

💛 James loves Genealogy and loves helping people and we are so grateful he gives his time to Newton Community Centre - Thank you so much James.

☕ If you fancy coming along for a brew and a chat about your own family tree, you’re always welcome!

And if volunteering is something you’ve been thinking about, feel free to get in touch.

Are you looking after someone with dementia…
or maybe starting to worry about your own memory?

It can feel a bit overwhelming at times, we understand, but you’re definitely not alone! Our Welcome Support Group is a friendly, informal space where you can chat, share, and meet others who understand.

There’s no pressure, just support, lovely conversation, and helpful advice if you want it. We usually have a member of the Alzheimer’s Society there too, so you can ask questions or get a bit of guidance. Oh and there’s always tea and toast!😊

Volunteering has helped her find that again! ...along with a sense of belonging and being part of something.

When Linda is in the Centre volunteering, it feels like you're being looked after by your Mum! Linda, thank you so much for all of your time

As part of Volunteers’ Week we’re highlighting what volunteering means to different members of our team and why they do it.

Here’s one of our new Volunteers Jeanne and her perspective of the wonderful work she does here at Newton Community Centre with the children at our after-school club!
Jeanne... we are so grateful - thank you!

🤩 Do you know what this week is?! 🤩
As we enter the first day of our annual celebration that is #VolunteersWeek we decided to start by giving a brief indication of what we wouldn’t be able to do if we weren’t fortunate enough to have our Volunteers...
Picture
Without our volunteers :

😎 We wouldn’t have run an annual summer Playscheme for 32 years which has seen over 20,480 children attend!

☕️ We wouldn’t have a wonderful Community Café which welcomes over 16,000 visitors a year!

🎄We wouldn’t have been able to host a Christmas Community Breakfast for the past seven years which has seen  over 600 enjoy a festive breakfast

☀️🎅🏻 We wouldn’t be able to raise funds through our Summer and Christmas Fairs welcoming over 2000 of our community

⭐️ We wouldn’t have a board of Trustees who guide us through good times and difficult ones too.

We are incredible lucky to have such an amazing group of volunteers who give their time freely and lovingly to make sure that Newton Community Centre is the wonderful place it is.

All the team send our ongoing gratitude to you all!

Over the coming week we will highlight some of the work done by our Volunteers as well as showcase some of the events they help at along with the fun we have!
If you would like to know more about the benefits of volunteers and feel you have some time to spare then please pop into the Centre or call us on 01925 224731.

🌞 This is such a good idea! 🌞
