Students from Fox Class at Green Lane School, aged 11–14, have been busy creating twelve amazing posters for us — and we can’t wait to show them off!

As part of their topic “Doing Good”, the pupils have been exploring how they can support local charities and make a positive difference in their community. Our team member Nicola teamed up with the class on a brilliant idea: the students would help promote our Children’s After School Club!

The pupils poured their creativity, imagination and enthusiasm into the project, producing twelve fantastic posters. We were so impressed that we’ll be sharing six of them this week, followed by six more next week — giving each one a chance to shine ⭐

A huge thank you to the staff at Green Lane School for supporting this project, and an even bigger well done to Fox Class for their outstanding work! 💛

🚨 IMPORTANT REMINDER 🚨

All visitors and Centre users must SIGN IN at reception and out again when leaving the building.

We are a very busy Community Centre. Signing in and out helps us keep the building safe for everyone and in line with Fire Regulations and emergencies!

Please take a moment to do this every time you visit. It really does help protect everyone who uses the Centre.

Thank you for helping keep Newton Community Centre safe for everyone 💜

The 1st of the month is coming up! Which means it's our £1.00 donation day!
🥰🪙👛

🌟 Just £1 Can Make a Big Difference! 🌟

On the 1st of each month, we’re asking our amazing community to donate just £1 if they can.

Why? Because if 500 people chip in, that’s £500 a month — enough to keep the lights on, run activities, and support those who need us most 💛

Whether it’s popping a pound in the collection box at the centre or donating online via our GoFundMe (please note donating this way there is a minimum donation of £5 due to their terms!): https://buff.ly/3DoDpXP

Every single £1 helps us stay open, active, and accessible.

Thank you so much!

☕❄️ No questions asked ❄️☕

We know that January can feel especially tough — the cold weather, dark mornings, and post Christmas dip can make everything feel a bit heavier.

Thanks to the kindness of our community, we're reminding everyone that we have drinks and snacks already paid for and pinned to the Pay It Forward Board — ready and waiting for anyone who needs a little lift.

A hot brew, some toast, a treat… whatever is on the board is yours to take, no questions asked.

If you’re able to give, you can buy an extra item and add a note to the board next time you are in.

If you’re feeling the cold a bit more than usual — emotionally or physically — please take one and have a chat with us. That’s exactly what they’re there for and what we are here for.

Let’s keep looking after each other, one cuppa and one small act of care at a time. 💜

Just a little snippet of some pre-loved books we have for sale!

Only 50p each or 3 for £1.00! 😮

Pop in for your next read 📚📖

A polite note to say that we are not currently accepting donations of books thank you!
