So what does it actually entail when you volunteer at Newton Community Centre?
How do you start?...
We encourage anyone thinking about volunteering to come and have a look at the Centre and meet the team to have a chat about what you'd like to do (we give lots of free training and development to help you make the most out of your time with us). There is an application form to fill in too!
How often can you help? Volunteering for an hour/two hours or half a day makes a HUGE difference to us and the volunteering you do can fit around your life and other commitments.
What kind of rôles are there?
☕️ serving drinks and snacks in our café
☀️ having lots of fun at our summer playscheme
🌸 making sure our community garden keeps looking lovely
🧸 helping at our Family Fun Time each Tuesday
📞 answering calls and meeting & greeting in our office
🤝 making friendship calls to those feeling isolated as part of our befriending project
😎🎄 running a stall at one of our fundraising events
There are so many ways you can help us and you would be made to feel so welcome.
